TAN TECK HENG - 陈得兴

Who was born and raised in Singapore, with ancestral roots in Chaozhou-Shantou, Guangdong.

He began studying art at a young age and furthered his artistic development through extensive travel and study across Southeast Asia. Deeply accomplished in the field of fine art, Tan draws upon both his Chinese heritage and his immersion in Nanyang culture, cultivating a profound appreciation and understanding of the cultural evolution between China and Southeast Asia.

Over the years, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in countries and regions including Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Macau.

Tan was born into a large traditional family, with seven brothers and four sisters. At the age of one, he immigrated with his family to Singapore, where he later served five years in the military. During his service, he was admitted to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Singapore. After graduation, he was hired as an art designer for Singapore Television.

Over the next decade, Tan fully dedicated himself to the pursuit of painting, participating in more than ten exhibitions in Singapore, Taiwan, and other locations. His artistic journey continues to reflect both his cultural heritage and his passion for visual storytelling.
